I don't need to tell you how much I would have enjoyed seeing all those drummers on Galle Face Green. I got a text from a great friend of mine on the Saturday night finale to say she was watching all these drummers on stage and how great it was. I couldn't believe my bad timing!Rhythmic Diasporahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15184142486414379805noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23964814.post-1154540059840240992006-08-02T18:34:00.000+01:002006-08-02T18:34:00.000+01:00Ah the "isso wadey"! Their was a world wide music festival held at the Galle Face called WOMAD. My God that was amazing. Had around 30 acts - from African drummers to a techno band from the UK called The Bays - and the performances were spread over two days.

I remember I had never seen so many people in Galle Falle at one point like that. The finale when they brought out Kandyan drummers, Hindu temple drummers, Indian drummers, western drums, African percussion instruments was orgasmic.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23964814.post-1154534966427645422006-08-02T17:09:00.000+01:002006-08-02T17:09:00.000+01:00Hmm...its the nostalgia that makes me fond of the ...Hmm...its the nostalgia that makes me fond of the place, though I havent visited the place in ages...was a big part of my childhoodAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
